Welcome to Viola Research Associates, Inc. We are a family owned and operated corporation focused on teaching, writing about, and conducting research in American history, primarily the early national period, the Civil War, and the Far West.

Additionally VRA highlights the work and scholarship of Dr. Herman J. Viola, a curator emeritus at the Smithsonian Institution. Dr. Viola has written numerous books about American history, he has been an adjunct professor at several universities.
